"Run with Perseverance the Race Marked out for You"

Hebrews 12:1

CHAPEL

Opening chapel service was led by Pastor Volzke and believe it or not he used a baby racing pigeon in his object lesson. He also used Olympic races to help us understand our theme verse “Run with perseverance the race marked out for us.” He reminded us that Christ has already won our race for us.

SURVEY SUMMARY

We thank all parents for their input on the short survey given at the Parent Meetings. We will be holding one more meeting for the few families who were unable to make the first ones and hope to get 100% participation in our survey.

According to our survey the most effective ways of communicating between school and home are Parent-Teacher Conferences, phone, the Messenger, and notes from the teacher. The least effective forms of communication are the Sunday bulletin, the website, and the monthly church newsletter. 24 out of 30 of you either strongly agreed or somewhat agreed that E-mail communication would be an effective way to keep in touch with your child’s teacher and 29 out of 30 agreed to make their E-mail address available to the school. 11 of you strongly agreed and 11 somewhat agreed that a 4-day school week should be considered as an option to reduce costs. 6 people identified child care issues and 10 identified increased length of school day/year as disadvantages to a 4-day school week.

Thank you again for your help. Complete results will be posted when all families have been surveyed.

VOLLEYBALL PRACTICE

Volleyball practices began this Thursday. Practices will be help on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday from 3:45-5:00 p.m. We are happy to have Kristen Sullivan as our volunteer coach again this year. The first game for the team will be on Thursday, Sept. 11 against Zion, Hastings at home. GO LADY MUSTANGS!!!

The school website calendar has been changed slightly. Although the format is basically the same, we have found a new site to host our calendar. Hopefully we have eliminated the problem with starting in Aug. 2006 when you look at the calendar. Check it out. Next year's dates are on there as well as the sports schedule.
